Pullach, 28 February 2019 – With SIXT ride, SIXT now offers its customers a comprehensive range of taxi, ride and transfer services worldwide via app. For this purpose, the company is cooperating internationally with over 1,500 partners and thus gains access to over one million drivers. Together with offers of partners, the SIXT app comprises one of the world’s largest networks of taxi and ride hailing services. The services are booked and paid for directly via the new SIXT App. With SIXT ride, customers can be picked up in less than 10 minutes in 250 major cities of Europe and the USA and book transfers in advance in over 60 countries and 500 cities.
With SIXT ride, SIXT is entering a global growth market that will be a core component of the world of mobility in a future of autonomous driving. According to Goldman Sachs, the market volume for taxis and ride hailing is expected to exceed EUR 150 billion by 2023.
Customers no longer have to deal with the question of how to get from one place to another – whether at home or abroad. They no longer need to download several apps. Using the SIXT app, they are able to book their lift anywhere with the convenience of a SIXT product. In addition, SIXT ride is not limited to large cities, but also reaches small cities and rural areas through a cooperation with local partners.
Ideal for business customers
Business customers in particular benefit from the convenient, unified accounting system of SIXT ride, through which ride services can now also be included and accounted for in the planning and booking of business trips. SIXT is building on its experience in business travel. Through its integration with AirPlus, SIXT offers the preferred payment method for corporate customers. And with interfaces to company travel portals such as Cytric, KDS, Onesto and Concur, the platform offers – exclusive to many markets – taxi booking directly when planning the trip.
To set up this offering, SIXT developed its mobility platform SIXT ONE and implemented the ride hailing product as a first step. For this purpose, nearly 1,500 partnerships were concluded worldwide. The company cooperates with renowned partners both in Germany and internationally. In Germany, the taxi organisations are partners of choice. The taxi organisations offer all the technological prerequisites for a modern ride service and respect the regulatory framework applicable in Germany. Additionally, SIXT supports the taxi organisations and sees itself as an active development partner while providing them access to its international customer base.
All in one app – the SIXT app
Customers can access SIXT ride via the new SIXT app, in which SIXT has integrated its products SIXT rent, SIXT share and SIXT ride.
With the SIXT app, SIXT offers its customers a real alternative to their own car. Customers will have access to SIXT’s integrated offers of car rental, car sharing and ride services in a single app.
In addition, the app also integrates services from partners without customers having to leave the app. SIXT is thus forging a strategic alliance for mobility. In an initial step, this will take place in the area of taxi and ride hailing.
With SIXT rent, the SIXT app becomes a digital counter. Already today, customers can select their vehicle digitally at top airports in Germany up to 30 minutes before the start of the rental period, go to the car park without making a detour to the counter and open the vehicle directly via the SIXT app.
With SIXT share, customers are always automatically on the way with the best price and in the car of their choice. In addition, SIXT share will give customers the freedom to select their vehicle whenever and wherever they want and to return it flexibly beyond their SIXT share business area – in all SIXT share business areas as well as at over 2,200 SIXT stations worldwide – with a rental period of one minute to 27 days.
The new SIXT app will give customers access to Germany’s largest premium car rental fleet, Germany’s most flexible car sharing offer and a worldwide platform of taxi and ride hailing services.
