SIXT and TIER are expanding their partnership: SIXT app now includes e-mopeds by TIER

  • In addition to thousands of TIER e-scooters, customers in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich can now also access the popular e-mopeds via the SIXT app
  • SIXT is thus following through on a strong partnership and driving forward the continuous expansion of the integrated mobility platform ONE to a one-stop shop for multimodal mobility
  • Dr Kathrin Risom, Executive Director SIXT share: “TIER e-mopeds are a meaningful and logical addition to our mobility offering SIXT share. Via our platform ONE, we offer our customers mobility from a single source, from a few minutes to several months, from a few hundred metres to thousands of kilometres.”

Pullach, 23 August 2021 The international mobility provider SIXT is expanding its offering SIXT share to include the popular e-mopeds by partner TIER. In addition to thousands of TIER e-scooters, users of the SIXT app in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich can now also access the brand’s around 3,500 e-mopeds. By including the well-liked electric mopeds, the company is responding to customers’ demand for micro-mobility. The expanded partnership with the Berlin-based mobility start-up is the next logical step for SIXT in the continuous expansion of its integrated mobility platform ONE. In the future, SIXT customers will have even more choice, helping them find the right means of transport for their current need at all times. All this is available via just one app, the SIXT app, with a single login and a standardised means of payment. This means that SIXT customers are mobile anywhere and anytime, from a few minutes to several months.

Hop on and off: Easy parking and full flexibility for a convenient way around

The TIER e-mopeds are ideal for shorter distances and offer space for up to two people – making them the perfect means of transport for a trip from the city to the lake or for the last mile home from the train station. Especially in summer, riding the fully electric mopeds is not just convenient – it’s also a lot of fun. In addition, they run quietly, they are environmentally friendly and emission-free. The electric mopeds also take up little space, which makes for easy parking.

Stopping off in between a ride is also possible, allowing for a stopover of up to two hours. At the touch of a button in the SIXT app, the e-moped is locked but remains at the customer’s disposal until the journey is continued. During the time of rental, trips can be made outside the business area; however, the vehicle must be returned to the business area at the end of the rental.

Register once and start driving straight away

The TIER e-mopeds are initially available in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich to registered customers of SIXT share. To book the mopeds via the SIXT app, all that is required for the initial registration is to upload a driver’s license, ID as well as a selfie via the app. To find available e-mopeds in their vicinity, customers can use the filter in the Share tab of the SIXT app. When accessing the e-mopeds for the first time via the SIXT app, customers receive a tutorial with helpful information and instructions for use. A helmet is required for the ride and available in the helmet compartment of the mopeds. The price for a trip equals the price of booking via TIER.

With the integration of TIER e-mopeds, the SIXT mobility platform ONE continues to grow: By bundling digital rentals for cars and commercial vehicles, car sharing, as well as ride and taxi services and SIXT+ car subscriptions, the platform provides access to more than 200,000 vehicles and mobility offers from 1,500 partners with over 1.5 million drivers in more than 250 cities worldwide. This mobility platform is unique to date, with SIXT driving forward its continuous development to one of the leading international digital mobility providers. The extended partnership with Europe’s leading micro-mobility provider TIER, which also stands for a sustainable product portfolio, substantiates this claim.
