Munich, 26 November 2019 – Bain & Company and manager magazin honoured the international mobility provider SIXT with the prestigious Game Changer Award last Thursday in Berlin. A top-class jury that included Siemens CEO Jo Kaeser, automotive manager Harald Krüger, manager magazin editor-in-chief Martin Noé and Bain Germany CEO Walter Sinn, among others, recognised SIXT for the exemplarily designed customer experience of the new SIXT App, with which the company decisively changed the rules of the mobility market this year. The app offers a unique, integrated mobility service that enables easy digital access to car rental, car sharing and driving services for around 20 million SIXT customers worldwide with easy digital access to more than 270,000 vehicles, over 1.5 million drivers and thousands of e-scooters. SIXT stands for 100 years of innovation culture with strong technological expertise, consistent customer orientation and an attractive price-performance ratio.
“SIXT has always excelled with customer-oriented innovations”
Alexander Sixt, Chief Organization & Strategy Officer at SIXT SE, accepted the award from laudatory speaker Philipp Justus, VP of Central Europe at Google. “SIXT has always excelled with customer-oriented innovations, and over the decades the company has constantly reacted to new market trends combined with a strong will to grow,” said Philipp Justus in explaining the jury’s decision. The jury was not only impressed by the concept, but also by the design and functionality of the SIXT App. “SIXT is not only ‘trendy,’ but really disruptive and makes similar attempts by competitors look like the Stone Age,” Justus said.
Alexander Sixt, who was just honoured as “Digitiser 2019” together with his brother at the 2019 Digital Champion Awards from WirtschaftsWoche and Deutsche Telekom in October, gladly accepted the award: “The Game Changer Award is something very special for us because it confirms our work and our approach of always focusing on the customer,” Sixt said. He not only thanked the jury and the organisers at Bain & Company and manager magazin, but also his family and the more than 7,500 SIXT employees, “who are driving the digital transformation of the company forward through their great personal commitment.”
The Game Changer Award was jointly initiated by Bain & Company and manager magazin in 2015 and is dedicated to digitalisation. On the basis of an extensive analysis, due diligence and evaluation by a top-class seven-member jury, companies are evaluated on the basis of the criteria innovation, disruption and success. The prize is awarded to German companies that have fundamentally changed the rules of the game in their industry.
